Both, part-time cleaners and full-time cleaners, offer distinct advantages and considerations. Especially when catering to different cleaning needs and preferences. So, when it comes to keep your space clean and inviting, which of the two should you pick to aid your decision-making?
Read on to figure out which option aligns best with your requirements.
Part-Time Cleaners:
Part-time cleaners, as the name suggests, operate on a flexible schedule, offering their services for a specified number of hours or sessions per week or month. Here’s what you need to know:
Cost-Effectiveness: Part-time cleaners can be a budget-friendly choice, especially for smaller households or businesses with limited cleaning needs. Since you only pay for the hours or sessions you require, it saves you money.
Flexibility: With part-time cleaners, you have the flexibility to adjust the frequency and duration of cleaning sessions based on your needs and schedule. Whether you need weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly cleaning, part-time cleaners can accommodate your preferences.
Customisation: They can tailor their services to meet your specific cleaning requirements. You can inform part-time cleaners of your preferences and priorities beforehand to ensure that the cleaning is done according to your standards.
No Long-Term Commitment: Hiring part-time cleaners doesn’t entail a long-term commitment or contract. You have the freedom to adjust or discontinue the cleaning services as needed without any obligations. Perfect for those of you with commitment issues!
Full-Time Cleaners:
Full-time cleaners are employed on a permanent or ongoing basis to provide comprehensive cleaning services on a daily or regular schedule. Here’s what you need to know:
Consistency: Full-time cleaners offer consistent and reliable cleaning services regularly, ensuring that your space remains clean and well-maintained at all times. With dedicated cleaning staff on-site, you can expect help around you 24/7.
Comprehensive Cleaning: They’re able to tackle more thorough cleaning tasks compared to part-time cleaners. Full-time cleaners also have the time and resources to perform deep cleaning, maintenance, and sanitation tasks to keep your space in top condition.
Immediate Availability: Having full-time cleaners on-site means that cleaning services are readily available whenever needed. You won’t have to wait for scheduled sessions or coordinate with external service providers for urgent cleaning needs.
Greater Accountability: They are accountable for the cleanliness and upkeep of your space daily, especially if they are on a live-in agreement. Full-time cleaners are also familiar with the cleaning requirements and expectations, leading to better communication and consistency in output.
Final Thoughts:
Whether you choose part-time cleaners or full-time cleaners, investing in cleaning services guarantees your space remains clean, and welcoming for your family, employees, and visitors. It also reflects back on your importance to cleanliness and hygiene.
As with every kind of decision, it’s crucial to evaluate your needs and preferences to make the best option for your home or business to enjoy the benefits of a well-maintained environment.
Southeast Asia is a treasure trove of beautiful destinations. Apart from the common haunts most of us know and love, did you know there’s some lesser-known gems to see without breaking the bank? From stunning beaches to bustling cities and serene islands, there’s something for each traveler. In this guide, we’ll cover ten of the best and most affordable places to visit in Southeast Asia.
The land of smiles sure has plenty of hidden spots lying around, and Hua Hin is one of them. A charming coastal town in Thailand, Hua Hin offers a perfect medley of beaches, markets, golf courses, and historical sites. It’s known for its beautiful vineyard too. Located hours away from bustling cities, this laidback town provides an atmospheric landscape at every turn. Remember to check out the popular night markets, indulge in plenty of fresh seafood, and head over to nearby parks to make it an enjoyable destination.
Another coastal city that will hit the spot is Nha Trang. Located approximately an hour and a half away from Ho Chi Minh City, this quaint Vietnamese city which bears close resemblance to Miami’s South Beach, is renowned for its pristine beaches, clear waters, and vibrant nightlife. Naturally, it’s an excellent spot for snorkeling and diving due to its divine coral reefs. Adding to the city’s charm, it’s also home to the Vinpearl Amusement Park and the Po Nagar Cham Towers (think a smaller version of the Ang Kor Wat). Nha Trang is also filled with plenty of budget-friendly accommodations and eateries.
Did you know Malaysia is filled with a plethora of beautiful islands? Rawa Island, a small coral island off the east coast of Malaysia, is one of them. Loosely dubbed the hidden paradise, Rawa Island is known for its white sandy beaches and clear blue waters. Like many Malaysian islands, it is perfect for snorkeling, kayaking, and other water activities on top of resting your mind, body and soul. The island offers a serene escape with limited but cozy accommodations, making it the ideal getaway spot for those looking to disconnect from the hustle and bustle.
Can’t get enough of Malaysia? Why not head over to Tawau – located in Sabah, a state that’s on the northern portion of Borneo in the region of East Malaysia. Escape to Tawau for its stunning natural attractions like the famous Tawau Hills Park which is great for hiking and exploring waterfalls. The city is also known for its seafood and cocoa, making it a culturally-rich destination.
A UNESCO World Heritage site, Luang Prabang is known for its well-prrsevered architecture, beautiful temples, and calm atmosphere. Despite being a lesser-known destination hot spot in Southeast Asia, expect to do a wide range of things here. First, be sure to head over to the local markets to get some shopping done, then make your way to UXO Laos Visitor’s Center to check out real-life bombies on display. After that, climb up a scenic, steep 329 step staircase to make your way up the sacred hill of Luang Prabang – Mount Phousi. Be sure to add other sights like the Pak Ou Caves, Kuangsi Waterfalls, and Tad Sae Waterfall to your list.
Embrace the island life at Cambodia’s premier beach destination, Sihanoukville. Offering a relaxed vibe and stunning beaches, you can also get on an island-hopping tour and head over to Koh Rong or partake in other water activities like snorkeling or diving. If you’re a budget traveler, this is the perfect destination for you!
Welcome to Bagan, an ancient city in Myanmar and home to thousands of temples and pagodas. If you’d like to strengthen your spirituality whilst traveling, this is the place for you. Expect to find stunning landscape and historical significance where you can bring back a wealth of knowledge from this fascinating destination. You can opt to explore the temples by bike, horse cart, or even hot air balloon. The must-visit destination is generally considered safe for tourists to visit amidst ongoing political issues.

This city has a thriving night scene, is filled with plenty of outdoor activities for the adventurous souls, and comes with a variety of local delicacies to sink your teeth in.
Haven’t gotten enough of Vietnam, yet? Enter Da Nang, a sleepy coastal city with a luxury vibe. Unlike Nha Trang, which has a consistent weather throughout, Da Nang is actually warm and cold. How does that work? Well, the higher you go to the Marble Mountains and Golden Bridge the colder it gets, and if you decide to remain by the beach, you get to bask in the Sun and its warmth by the sea. Do remember to pack a windbreaker as you head on up to the Golden Bridge (situated 1,400 meters above sea level) via the Ba Na Cable Car – which holds the world record for “longest non-stop single track cable car”.

Ask anyone in Singapore and they will tell you that Chicken rice is an iconic dish here. Enjoyed by locals and tourists alike, each area in the city has its own renowned spots for this delectable meal. Think fragrant rice cooked in chicken broth, succulent chicken meat with crispy roasted skin, a bowl of warm, hearty soup paired with spicy, homemade chilli. The sheer thought of the dish is enough to make us drool at our desks. If you, like us, are huge fans of chicken rice, here is a list of best chicken rice stalls in each area.
Let’s begin with the best side of the lot, the East. Honestly, there’s more than one stall that serves exceptional chicken rice. But the winner, for us, will have to be Bruce Lee Chicken Rice. This hidden spot in East Coast Road will get you going back for more. Although a tad bit unconventional, an order of roasted chicken rice will get you a plate of chicken coupled with a medley of vegetables (bean sprouts, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and braised tofu) doused in a secret savoury sauce. It also comes with an unlimited serving of achar! And in true Bruce Lee fashion, the chilli here packs a punch and will surely get you screaming for waataah!

North Side
Another household name is Yishun 925 Hainanese Chicken Rice. This stall has been a staple in the North for years. Known for its flavorful chicken and perfectly cooked, aromatic rice, the stall draws crowds from all over the island. But is it worth traveling down to the North for? You bet it is. They have also branched out over several areas, where the remain consistent in quality to give people what they want. You can expect tender and moist chicken, and a serving that’s full of robust flavor! The chicken rice here also comes with a tiny side of achar. Be sure to get to the original stall early to avoid a long queue.

South Side
On to the South we have Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice. Also known as the late Anthony Bourdain’s favourite joint. Located at Maxwell Food Centre, Tian Tian is known for their juicy chicken and rice that’s chock full of flavor. A bowl of soup, chilli and ginger paste are provided here, making it the perfect accompaniments to your chicken rice experience. Don’t believe men? This stall’s long queues are a testament to its quality and reputation.
Where: 1 Kadayanallur St, #01-10/11 Maxwell Food Centre, Singapore 069184
West Side
Finally, we have the West Side. Admittedly, this is an area that’s less frequented by many. And tucked away in this ulu area, we have Hoe Kee Kitchen located in Jurong West 505 Market & Food Centre. Known for its steamed chicken rice, Hoe Kee Kitchen was also included in the Michelin Guide Singapore with a Michelin Plate in 2023. It’s also famous for its affordable price, at only $2 per plate. Despite its official closing time of 6pm (as listed on Google), they are notorious for selling out by late lunch time, with a queue sometimes forming before their official opening hours of 10am. Talk about a hit!

Final Thoughts
Whether you’re in the East, North, South, or West of Singapore, you can find top-notch and highly raved about chicken rice stalls that do justice to the nation’s unofficial national dish. Each stall offers a unique take on this classic meal, making your trip down worthwhile. It wasn’t easy narrowing down one stall from each area, but we did it. However, we do understand that taste is subjective so don’t come for us if you feel like any of the stalls above aren’t the best that Singapore has to offer!
Staying healthy whilst keeping fit as a working professional doesn’t have to be expensive or time-consuming. With a bit of planning, you too can have a variety of sumptuous and nutritious snacks ready by your side to keep you energized throughout the day. Here you go, nine affordable healthy snack ideas you can easily find at a supermarket near you!
Nuts offer a perfect balance of healthy fats, protein, and fiber. They are an amalgamation of a powerhouse of nutrients, and contain essential nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin E, and magnesium, which support heart health, brain function, and immune health. Try a variety of unsalted nuts, such as almonds, walnuts, and cashews. A small handful can curb hunger and satisfy cravings. However, it’s important to opt for the unsalted or lightly salted versions to keep healthy.
Why It’s Great: Nuts are dense in nutrients, easy to carry, and versatile. You can keep them at your desk, in your bag, or even in the car for quick access to a healthy snack.
Greek yogurt is surely making its way around social media. With nearly twice the protein of regular yogurt, it’s a filling snack that’s beneficial for muscle maintenance. Greek yogurt also contains calcium and B12, important for bone health and energy metabolism. Add fresh fruits or nuts for a nutritious twist, or opt for plain yogurt to avoid added sugars.
Why It’s Great: Greek yogurt is versatile, low in calories, and satisfying. It also provides a creamy treat that feels indulgent without the guilt.
Rice cakes or tteokbokki are a light snack option that you can pair with a wide range of healthy ingredients. Top them with avocado for healthy fats, hummus for protein, or peanut butter for an energy boost. Rice cakes are also gluten-free, making them suitable for those with dietary restrictions. They provide a crunchy texture that’s satisfying without being overly filling.
Why It’s Great: Rice cakes can be tailored to your taste and nutritional needs. They’re perfect for pairing with healthy spreads or fresh veggies, adding flavor and nutrients.
Nothing beats the OG – fresh fruits. Fruits like apples, bananas, and berries are rich in fiber, vitamins, and natural sugars, making them ideal for a quick energy boost. Bananas, for example, are rich in potassium, which helps maintain proper muscle function and hydration, while apples provide fiber and antioxidants. Berries like blueberries and strawberries are loaded with antioxidants that support cognitive health.
Why It’s Great: Fresh fruit is naturally sweet, nutritious, and easy to carry, making it a perfect snack for a busy day.
Remember the times when you were physically repelled by vegetables? Well, not anymore. Chopped carrots, celery, bell peppers, and cucumber make for a crunchy, nutrient-dense snack. These veggies are low in calories but high in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Pair them with a dip like hummus or Greek yogurt-based tzatziki for added protein. This combo supports digestive health and keeps you feeling full.
Why It’s Great: Fresh veggies provide hydration, fiber, and vitamins, while dips like hummus add protein and healthy fats, making this snack filling and nutritious.
Muesli bars are a convenient snack that combines the benefits of oats, nuts, and dried fruits. Look for bars that are low in added sugars and preservatives, as these can sneak in extra calories. Oats provide fiber for sustained energy, while nuts and seeds add protein and healthy fats.
Why It’s Great: Muesli bars are convenient, portioned, and can be a good option for satisfying hunger between meals. They’re especially handy when you’re on the move.
An option that may not sit well with many is dark chocolate. Dark chocolate (with at least 70% cocoa) is a rich source of antioxidants, which benefit heart health and protect cells from damage. Dark chocolate also contains a small amount of caffeine, which can help increase alertness. Additionally, the flavonoids in dark chocolate can improve blood flow to the brain, supporting cognitive function.
Why It’s Great: Dark chocolate satisfies sweet cravings with a health boost. It’s rich in flavor, so a small amount goes a long way.
Another versatile snack is seaweed snacks. Seaweed snacks are low in calories and packed with vitamins A, C, E, and minerals like iodine, which supports thyroid function. They’re also rich in antioxidants and provide a unique salty taste that’s satisfying. Seaweed is known for its high fiber content, which promotes gut health and helps regulate appetite.
Why It’s Great: Seaweed snacks are low-calorie, nutrient-dense, and great for adding a salty, savory flavor to your snack routine.
The perfect post-workout snack or when you need an energy boost, protein bars come in high protein content and minimal sugar. Protein bars are ideal for busy days, post-workout snacks, or when you need something filling. They come in various flavors, making it easy to find a bar that suits your taste. Protein bars provide the essential amino acids your body needs to repair and build muscle, and they often contain fiber and healthy fats for sustained energy.
Why It’s Great: Protein bars are filling, nutrient-packed, and perfect for curbing hunger between meals. They’re especially convenient for on-the-go fuel.

Variety and Selection
One of the most significant factors to consider is the variety of food options each app offers. If you’re someone who enjoys exploring different cuisines, whether it’s local hawker favorites or international fare, Grab offers a broad range of selections that cater to both traditional tastes and new, trendy spots. This app stands out for its extensive selection of eateries, from budget-friendly hawker stalls to high-end dining.
On the other hand, if you prefer ordering from premium, mid-to-high-end restaurants or if you’re looking for exclusive dining experiences, Deliveroo may be more suited to your needs. The app is known for partnering with many fine dining establishments, which can be perfect if you’re looking to indulge in a special meal.
If you’re someone who prefers the sheer convenience of having all kinds of food options at your fingertips, including affordable options from hawker stalls, FoodPanda shines with its broad range of food choices. With an extensive variety, it caters to different budgets, making it a go-to option for anyone who wants flexibility in their orders.
User-Friendly Experience
Ease of use plays a significant role in deciding which app to download and use regularly. Grab’s user-friendly interface makes it easy to navigate between ordering food, paying, and redeeming rewards. Since Grab is also integrated with GrabPay and GrabRewards, you can easily pay and accumulate rewards points that can be redeemed for discounts, making it a practical choice if you’re already using Grab for ride-sharing or delivery services.
Deliveroo also offers an intuitive experience, with features like real-time tracking, scheduled deliveries, and the added benefit of Deliveroo Plus. This subscription service provides free delivery and exclusive deals, which is an appealing option if you order frequently. The app’s design is sleek, and its real-time tracking ensures you know exactly when to expect your order, minimizing any waiting time.
FoodPanda also excels in user experience, offering an easy-to-use interface that allows customers to quickly browse through a wide variety of food choices. One of the key features of FoodPanda is PandaMart, which lets you order groceries along with meals. Additionally, FoodPanda’s recent addition of PandaGo introduces another layer of convenience, offering delivery services for a wider range of needs beyond just food.
Speed and Reliability
Speed is a major factor when it comes to food delivery. Everyone wants their meal delivered hot and fresh, and the faster the better. Grab has built a reputation for being reliable, with a broad network of restaurants that ensures prompt deliveries. However, it’s important to note that, while Grab offers a solid delivery time, its speed may vary depending on your location and the time of day.
Deliveroo is known for its excellent speed and premium restaurant partnerships. With its strong network of delivery riders and quick dispatch system, Deliveroo ensures your meal arrives quickly. This makes it an ideal choice for those looking for high-quality meals delivered without delays.
FoodPanda is a strong contender for speed as well, with a vast delivery network covering most areas in Singapore. It has a consistent track record of fast deliveries, especially in urban areas, and is often a preferred choice for those ordering from hawker stalls or casual dining places. While its network is extensive, delivery times can occasionally vary depending on your proximity to the restaurant or the area’s traffic conditions.
Promotions and Discounts
Who doesn’t love discounts? One of the best ways to get more value for your money when ordering food is to take advantage of promotions. Grab offers frequent promotions and discounts, and you can also earn GrabRewards points with each order. These points can be redeemed for discounts or used across other Grab services, such as ride-sharing or GrabExpress deliveries.
Deliveroo offers a similar setup with its Deliveroo Plus subscription, which provides free delivery and exclusive discounts for subscribers. If you order food often, this can be a great way to save on delivery fees and enjoy perks.
FoodPanda regularly offers promotions, discounts, and vouchers, making it the most cost-effective option for frequent users. Additionally, with its large selection of food types and restaurant tiers, it gives users the ability to enjoy deals no matter their budget.
Additional Services and Convenience
Sometimes, the app that offers the most convenience and additional services will win out. Grab stands out by being integrated with the broader Grab ecosystem, offering a seamless experience for ride-sharing, food delivery, and even payments. If you’re a regular Grab user, you’ll appreciate the ease with which you can navigate between services.
Deliveroo offers exclusive restaurant partnerships, creating a unique dining experience for those who enjoy fine dining or prefer exploring exclusive menus not available on other platforms. This makes Deliveroo the perfect choice for foodies who enjoy a premium experience with a little extra flair.
FoodPanda’s additional service, PandaMart, offers grocery delivery alongside meals, making it an excellent all-in-one platform. Whether you need to restock your pantry or pick up your meal, PandaMart streamlines the process for you. Additionally, PandaGo extends the convenience of deliveries beyond food, including parcels and items from various stores.
If variety, speed, and value for money are your priorities, FoodPanda is a great all-rounder. However, if you’re looking for a premium dining experience, Deliveroo’s fine-dining options and exclusive partnerships might be your best bet. For those already within the Grab ecosystem, Grab offers a seamless experience with added benefits like GrabRewards and GrabPay integration.
Ultimately, the best food delivery app is the one that aligns with your needs — whether that’s the broadest variety, speed, exclusive deals, or convenience. With these three apps, you’re guaranteed to find the perfect solution for satisfying your cravings and making your dining experience hassle-free. While each app has its own strengths and along with many, most of us will opt for the one that gives the best rates.
